BU Deals Brown First Loss
O'Neal Nets Second Game Winner
October 3, 2007
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Boston University men’s soccer team dealt Brown its first loss of the season, 1-0, in a non-conference tilt Tuesday.
Freshman Aaron O'Neal’s third goal – and second game-winner – of the season at 62:58 gave the Terriers the win against the No. 15 Bears.
O'Neal received a pass from sophomore Shaun Taylor in the 63rd minute, beat his defender and sent a wide open shot past Brown's diving keeper Jarrett Leach.
"[Brown is] a tough team," BU coach Neil Roberts told BU Athletics. "They defended well. We countered and had some opportunities. The guys fought hard. It was a good win."
BU improved to 5-4-0 on the year, while Brown dropped to 6-1-1.
BU claimed victory despite being out-shot 10-8. Sophomore keeper Hrafn Davidsson made two saves while playing all 90 minutes in goal. Leach stopped four shots for Brown.
