BU Alum Hooks on with Miami FC
Goldberg Played at BU and BC
April 9, 2008
BOSTON – Boston University men’s soccer product Jarryd Goldberg signed with Miami FC of the United Soccer League First Division on Tuesday.
Goldberg, who played at Boston College before transferring to BU for his junior season, arrived in Miami about a month ago after sending the team game footage and impressed the coaches enough in preseason to earn a contract.
"This is a young man who will definitely bring an impressive infusion of energy to our midfield," said Miami FC coach Zinho. "Absolutely another great pick up for the team."
The 2007 Pan American Maccabi Games gold medalist played two years in the midfield for BU, starting every game he played. Goldberg totaled one goal and two assists in his two seasons with the Terriers, but his speed and ball control created plenty of scoring opportunities for BU.
Boasting a vast array of international experience in the game; including stints in Israel, France, Italy, and Brazil, Goldberg feels he will blend excellently with Miami FC's multinational roster.
"I already feel very close with most of the guys on the team," Goldberg said on Miami’s website. "I'm really just looking forward to being able to contribute to the team in any way that I can. I am very excited to be a part of Miami FC, and believe strongly in what they are trying to accomplish here."
Miami FC faces the Charleston Battery on Saturday, April 12 at Tropical Park Stadium at 7:30 p.m.
