At the age of 17, Henderson scored two goals and set up teammates to earn the 2006 Final Four MVP en route to the championship.
Now playing at Boston College, Henderson was selected to the 2008 Soccer Buzz All-Northeast Regional First Team and NEWISA (New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association) Second Team. She played in all 23 of the Eagles’ games last season, scoring a goal and adding four assists.
"Kelly has been one of the backbones of this young franchise and at the young age of 20 has taken a major leadership role," said Fury head coach Paul Riley. "She is very dedicated and she embraces everything expected of a Fury player. Kelly has an unbelievable engine and is a physical specimen with a great mindset for the game.
"She is tactically way ahead of her years and is a superb all-around player. She can mark, defend, attack, take on players, is great in the air and a brilliant leader both on and off the field."
Henderson was named All-American, All-State, All-Long Island and All-County as a senior at Baldwin High School. She was a member of the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program team for five years and has worn the red, white and blue of the U.S. Under-20 National Team.
The WPSL is a 50-plus team national women's soccer league with five conferences.
