BC's Bedoya Shares ACC Award

Huge Goal Against UNC Caps Big Week

Boston College midfielder Alejandro Bedoya's busy week earned him a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week honors with Wake Forest's Cody Arnoux.

Bedoya was involved in six of the 10 goals scored by BC in two victories last week, including the equalizer in the Eagles? 2-1 stunning come-from-behind win over North Carolina.

The junior totaled five points - one goal and three assists – in BC’s 8-0 trouncing of Maine.

He then scored the game-tying goal with just more than three minutes remaining in regulation before assisting on Mike Konicoff's game-winning score just 37 seconds into the overtime period to lead then-13th-ranked BC to a 2-1 ACC win over the Tar Heels.

Through six games this season, Bedoya leads the ACC in points with 13. He also ranks first among all league players in assists (seven), assists per game (1.17) and points per game (2.17).

BC’s (5-1-0, 2-0-0 ACC) efforts earned the school a No. 6 ranking in the latest Soccer America poll, jumping seven spots from the previous week.
