Aztecs Ink Former UConn Captain

Connors Also Played in the WUSA and W-League

March 10, 2008

The Boston Aztec WPSL women's team inked former UConn All-American and WUSA veteran Kerry Connors for the 2008 season.

The Somers, Conn., native played three years with the New York Power and San Diego Spirit in the now-defunct WUSA after staring in a captains role with the Huskies at the collegiate level. She has traveled quite a bit in the local women’s soccer circuit, playing in the W-League with the Boston Renegade and in the WPSL with the Massachusetts Stingers and New England Mutiny.

Connors, a midfielder, also has four caps with the US Women's National Team.

"I am excited to begin a new season with a new team. I have the confidence that Coach Simpson can lead the Aztecs to a successful summer in a very strong league," Connors said. "I look forward to experiencing his knowledge and coaching philosophy of the game, and working with so many talented players."

The Aztecs will play their first season at the state of the art Amesbury Sports Park this summer. For information on their recent merger with New England Soccer School, see here.
