March 25, 2008

The Boston Aztecs women’s team signed Cambridge (Mass.) native and former Boston Breakers forward Rebekah Splaine for the 2008 season.

Splaine was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year at Brown and was named a First Team Northeast Region selection in her senior year. She was part of W-League champions with the Boston Renegades in 2001 and 2002 and also played in the WPSL with the New England Mutiny.

She signed as a developmental player with the Breakers in 2003 and was selected to participate in the 2004 WUSA Soccer Festivals.

The Aztecs, who play in the WPSL, will announce their full roster and player pool for the 2008 season Thursday. A complete season schedule for the women, as well as the roster and schedule for the Aztec NPSL men will also be announced soon.
