Aztec Women Rout Stingers

Down Mass. 5-0 in Their WPSL Opener

The Boston Aztec WPSL team earned a solid 5-0 win over the visiting Massachusetts Stingers at Amesbury Sports Park Thursday.

Former WUSA player Kerry Connors had a hat trick in the win, while former Wheaton star Christy McHugh and current Wheaton star Barrie Lindsay each netted a goal. UMass-Lowell goalkeeper Jaime Gillis earned her first shutout of the season.

The Aztecs play their next match Friday at 7:30 p.m. against the Soccer Plus CT Reds and former USWNT and World Cup winning coach Tony DiCicco.

The Aztec men kickoff the NPSL season on Saturday t at 7:00 p.m. on the road in Buffalo against the defending division champions, Queen City FC.
