In other America East honors, Binghamton University’s Cameron Keith was named the America East Striker of the Year, while teammate Adam Chavez was tabbed Defender of the Year and the Bearcats’ coaching staff earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Keith is joined at forward on the all-conference first team by Boston University’s Shaun Taylor. Taylor tied for fourth in America East with five goals and tied for fifth with 12 points.
Hvlatay is joined in the midfield by Stony Brook’s Michael Palacio, a three-time first-team all-conference selection. Binghamton’s Barry Neville, Hartford’s Daniel Antunez and Vermont’s Loren Hill round out the selections.
Chavez is joined in the first-team backfield by the Catamounts’ Connor Tobin and the Seawolves’ Yahaya Musa, both of whom are repeat selections. Tobin earned second-team accolades last year, while Musa was a first-team selection in 2006, and a second-team choice in 2005.
The second-team forwards are Hartford’s Andreas Blamo and Vermont’s T.J. Gore, a first-team selection in 2006.
The second-team midfield consists of Binghamton’s Matt Narode a repeat selection on the squad, Hartford’s Gary Muir Kevin Gnatiko and Bryan Moffa from UMBC, and Mahamadou Simpara from Stony Brook.
The second-team backs are the Terriers’ Dan Schultz, Hartford’s Patrick Roy and Vermont’s Panos Georgiadis (Morrisville, Vt./Peoples Academy/St. Lawrence), who earned second-team honors for the second straight year.
Vermont’s Roger Scully (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) is the second-team goalkeeper. Scully ranked second in the conference in goals against average (0.66) and led the Catamounts to the No. 2 seed in the America East Championship and a first-round bye.
Nineteen of the 22 all-conference selections will compete for the league title at the 2007 America East Men’s Soccer Championship, which begins with first-round action on Saturday, November 10.
