CHESTNUT HILL, MA – The Boston College women’s soccer team had three players make the All-ACC Second Team and three more on the All-ACC Freshmen team in awards announced by the conference Tuesday.

Senior Caroline Walden, freshman Julia Bouchelle and freshman Jillian Mastroianni were all named to the All-ACC second-team while Bouchelle, Mastroianni and Alyssa Pember were named to the freshmen team.

Walden, a native of Guilford, CT, has started 78 of the 80 games played at BC in four years. She earned the Soccer Buzz All-Northeast honors as a junior and was invited to train with the Under-23 US Women’s National Team this past summer. Walden, a defender, currently has four goals, seven assists for 15 career points.

Bouchelle is the Eagles second leading scorer with seven goals and one assist for 15 points. This creative midfielder has notched four game-winning goals in her first season.

Freshman goalkeeper Mastroianni, a native of Durham, CT, started 17 of 18 games for the Eagles this season. Mastroianni, who has seven shutouts this season, has a goals-against-average of 0.85, good enough for second in the ACC.

Pember battled injuries very early in the season only to bounce back and become a presence in the back line for the Eagles. Pember is part of a foursome on defense that has let up only eight goals in the high-scoring ACC conference. She is also a threat offensively and scored her first collegiate goal Oct. 2 vs. Miami.
