Soccer New England - The Region's Premier Soccer Publication

Soccer New England is a magazine, and now a website, that has covered the world's most popular sport in the northeastern part of the United States since 1983. The entire sport for the entire region has always been our mantra, so we cover everything from the players and teams of the local youth leagues and colleges, to the Revs, and even the US National teams, since they frequently come to this region to play and often choose local players to compete.

Joe Max Moore Soccer New England even covers players or coaches with local ties, such as Clint Dempsey or Curt Onolfo, who have gone on to other parts of the world to ply their trade.

New England has always been a hotbed of soccer activity, ever since the first organized game took place on Boston Common 150 years ago. The region was the home of some of the very first professional clubs back in the 1920s, when the Fall River Marksmen and New Bedford Whalers were among the most successful teams in the country.

More recently, the region has hosted three World Cups, three MLS Cups, a WUSA Founders Cup and several high profile international matches. And, of course, it is home to one of MLS's most successful teams in recent years, the New England Revolution.

Soccer New England has covered them all.

At the collegiate level, some of the top teams in the NCAA hail from New England schools, and our youth teams are starting to make a significant impact on the national stage, as well.

Individual players who come from New England include Kristine Lilly, Michael Burns, Jay Heaps, and Charlie Davis, to name a few. Add in those with ties to the region through having played for New England teams, and the list grows to include Taylor Twellman, Walter Zenga, Joe Max Moore, Eric Wynalda, and countless others.

The current Head of the USSF, Sunil Gulati, was raised in Connecticut, and numerous coaches in MLS, and throughout the ranks of the various US national teams programs, also have New England ties.

For over 25 years, Soccer New England has been covering the people and the teams of this region in its monthly magazine. More recently, we have moved the publication online.

The Soccer New England site aims to provide all the news, views and information you need if you want to follow the world’s most popular in the six New England states.

Enjoy!
